To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The pores and rugged surface visible in each piece are authentic expressions of the stone — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
