The natural weave of the silk softens and scatters the light from within, producing a warm, glowing volume rather than a directed beam — the entire surface of the shade becomes luminous. When unlit, the shade appears as a soft ivory-cream lantern. When lit from within, the silk becomes translucent — the warm light passes through the weave structure, every thread visible as a fine warm grid — and the full depth, warmth, and luminosity of the material reveals itself. Packaging creases in the silk will relax naturally once the lamp is installed and warmed by use. Do not steam, iron, or apply heat directly to the silk shade.
