E14 Base — US and Canadian Buyers, Please Read
This fixture takes E14 bulbs, the small screw base used in Europe, the UK and Australia. The North American small screw base is E12, and E14 bulbs are not commonly stocked in US and Canadian shops.
They are easy to buy online, but do not count on picking one up locally. Contact us before ordering and we will confirm which base your fixture ships with, and order a spare or two at the same time.
LED Bulbs Only — Timber Close to the Source
The petals are timber and sit right around the globes. A hot bulb dries, darkens and eventually cracks wood, and inside a glass globe the heat has nowhere to go.
Fit cool-running LEDs only. If you want the Edison filament look, use an LED filament bulb — the same appearance without the heat.
Opal globes will soften filament detail anyway, so a plain frosted LED gives you the same warm glow.
Dry Indoor Rooms Only
IP20, for dry indoor locations. Solid timber moves, warps and cracks with humidity, and thin shaped blades show it first — a warped petal changes the whole silhouette.
Not for bathrooms, not directly above a sink or hob, and not for covered porches or anywhere outdoors.

Placement
Over a dining table, choose a fixture roughly half to two thirds the width of the table, and centre it on the table rather than on the room.
Hang the bottom 30 to 36″ above a surface, and keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom in any walkway. Both sizes are 11.8″ tall in themselves, so add that to your cable drop.
This is a wide fixture that works alone — it is not meant to be grouped. Between the two, going one size up is the more common regret-free choice over a full-size dining table.
A wide layered fixture shows a tilt against the ceiling line, and overlapping petals make it obvious. Ask your electrician to check it with a spirit level before the final tighten.
Leave ceiling above it. The petals throw light and shadow upward as well as down, so an open ceiling is part of the effect.
Bulbs and Light
Warm White, Three Identical Bulbs
Use 2700–3000K warm white. Warm light brings out the red in dark walnut; cool white makes timber look grey and flat, and turns the opal globes clinical.
Buy all three bulbs at once and identical. Three globes side by side in slightly different colour temperatures is immediately obvious and cannot be fixed later.
Keep a spare from the same batch. When one goes in a year’s time, a fresh bulb from a different pack rarely matches.

Care
Timber Dry, Glass Damp — Keep Them Separate
Dust the petals with a soft dry cloth along the grain, or a soft brush between the layers. No polish, no solvents, and no damp cloths on the timber — water raises the grain and marks wood permanently.
The opal globes are the part that dulls with dust, since anything on the surface cuts the light directly. Wipe them with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, and spray the cloth, never the fixture, so nothing runs onto the wood.
Layered petals collect dust on every upper edge, and on a lit fixture those edges are lit from below, so it shows. Include them a few times a year.
The golden accents take a dry cloth only. Keep metal polish away from both the timber and the glass.
