Placement
Over a dining table, choose a fixture roughly half to two thirds the width of the table, and centre it on the table rather than on the room.
Hang the bottom of the orb 30 to 36″ above a surface, and keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom in any walkway. The fixture is 14.2 to 18.9″ tall in itself, so add that to your cable drop when working out the height.
Leave ceiling above the disk. Part of the effect is the light it throws upward, so a flat open ceiling above it matters. Tucked under a low soffit or a sloped beam, you lose that half of the design.
A wide flat disk shows a tilt, because the eye reads its edge against the ceiling line. Ask your electrician to check it with a spirit level before the final tighten.

Care
Dust the Top of the Disk
Wipe both parts with a soft dry cloth, or a barely damp one, drying at once. Spray the cloth rather than the fixture so nothing runs into the fittings.
The upper face of the disk collects dust where nobody looks, and since the disk bounces light onto the ceiling, dust up there quietly dulls that effect. Include it a few times a year.
A lit white orb shows every mark, so it is worth wiping more often than you would expect.
Avoid abrasive pads and solvents on the black finish, and let the fixture cool before cleaning it.
