The Aluna Corded Pendant Light captures the essence of artisanal elegance with its meticulously woven jute shade and sleek wooden accents.
Its geometric form radiates sophistication, while the soft, diffused lighting creates a serene atmosphere. Perfect for minimalist, coastal, or Japandi-style interiors, this pendant light offers both function and aesthetic appeal.
Woven rope does something a solid shade cannot. Light escapes between the coils as well as through the open ends, so the shade itself glows and casts a fine banded pattern onto the ceiling and the walls around it.
Jute is also a warm, slightly irregular material. It reads as handmade rather than manufactured, and its natural oatmeal colour warms the light passing through it.
Three sizes, from 17.7″ to 23.6″ across.
Before You Order
Fit an LED Bulb, Nothing Else
Jute is a dry natural fibre. Never fit an incandescent, halogen, or Edison filament bulb. Those bulbs run hot enough to scorch and discolour rope, and a dry fibre shade close to a hot bulb is a genuine fire risk.
Use a cool-running LED only. If you want the look of a visible filament, an LED filament bulb gives it without the heat.
Contact us to confirm the maximum wattage before buying bulbs.
Dry Indoor Rooms Only
IP20, for dry indoor locations. Natural rope absorbs moisture, steam, and cooking grease, and damp jute can mildew and smell. Keep it well away from a hob, out of bathrooms, and off covered porches.
Coastal styling is about the look, not the location. Do not hang this anywhere it will be exposed to sea air or outdoor humidity.
Features
Hand-Woven Jute
Natural rope coiled into shape, with the slight irregularity of a handmade piece.
Patterned Light
Light escapes between the coils, casting fine bands across the ceiling and walls.
Three Sizes
From a pendant you group in pairs to one that anchors a dining table alone.
Choosing a Size
| Size | Dimensions | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Small | ⌀17.7″ × H15.7″ | A bedroom or hallway, or a pair over a kitchen island |
| Medium | ⌀19.7″ × H17.7″ | A dining table for four to six |
| Large | ⌀23.6″ × H19.7″ | A dining table for six to eight, or a living room as the main light |
These shades are deep as well as wide, up to 19.7″ tall before the cord. Over a table, hang the bottom 30 to 36″ above the surface; in a walkway, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom underneath.
Bulbs
E26 or E27, Not Included
The socket takes a standard E26 bulb in the US and Canada, or E27 in Europe, the UK, and Australia.
Warm white at 2700–3000K is the right choice. It sits with the oatmeal colour of the jute and keeps the room calm. Cool white turns natural fibre grey and undoes the warmth the material is there for.
A frosted bulb is kinder than a clear one here, since a clear filament shows as a bright point through the gaps in the weave.

Care
Natural Fibre, Natural Variation
Jute is a plant fibre, so colour and texture vary between pieces and yours will not match the photographs exactly. Loose fibres on the surface are normal on new rope and settle over the first weeks.
Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum on low suction with a brush head. Do not use water or any liquid cleaner, which stains jute permanently and can leave it smelling musty.
Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which bleaches natural rope unevenly over time.
