Overview

A compact black metal cone with a gold interior and a built-in LED.

The cone is opaque, so all the light goes straight down in a clean, defined pool. That makes it a task light: good over a counter, a desk, a bedside, or a stair landing, and not the right choice if you want a room to glow.

Black outside and gold inside is a deliberate pairing. From across the room it reads as a quiet dark shape, but stand under it and the gold catches the light and warms everything it throws down.

Good to Know

It Fits a Sloped Ceiling

This is rated for sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees, which many pendants are not. Under a vaulted or pitched ceiling it hangs level rather than tilting with the slope.

Mention it to your electrician before installation so the canopy is set up correctly.

The LED Is Built In

The light source is an integrated LED, not a replaceable bulb. There is nothing to change when it eventually dims, so treat this as a long-life fixture rather than one you re-lamp.

At 11.8″ across and 9.1″ deep this is a modest pendant. Over a wide island or a long table, use two or three spaced 24 to 30″ apart rather than one on its own.

Hang the bottom of the cone 30 to 36″ above a worktop or tabletop. In a walkway, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom underneath.

Because the light is directional, plan other lighting in the room too. This lights a surface well but leaves the corners dark.

Care

Matte Black Marks Easily

Dust with a dry soft cloth, or a barely damp one followed by drying. A dark painted finish shows fingerprints and water spots clearly, and abrasive cleaners leave permanent dull patches.

Dust settles inside the cone where you cannot see it and dims the output over time, so wipe the gold interior occasionally as well, once the fixture is off and cool.
