Lisa This light offers both style and function. We are using it over a card table, but it would also look nice as island pendants.

Four opal glass globes on a walnut and brass bar, built for a kitchen island.
A single pendant over an island leaves the ends of the worktop dark. This spreads four separate light sources along 47.2″, so the whole surface is lit evenly and you are not working in your own shadow.
Opal glass is the reason it is comfortable to stand under. The globes glow rather than glare, which matters when the fixture sits near eye level across a counter.
Two models, both 47.2″ with four lights.
Good to Know
It Fits a Sloped Ceiling
This fixture is rated for sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees, which most linear island lights are not. If your kitchen has a vaulted or pitched ceiling, this will hang level rather than tilting with the slope.
Tell your electrician before installation so the canopy is set up correctly.
Four Bulbs, All Matching
Bulbs are not included and you need four of them. Buy all four at once, identical in wattage and colour temperature.
Mismatched bulbs are obvious on a linear fixture like this: one globe reading warmer or brighter than the rest reads as a fault, and it is the most common complaint on multi-light bars.
Dry Indoor Rooms Only
IP20, for dry indoor locations. Keep it clear of a hob, since steam and cooking grease will mark the wood and the brass, and do not use it in bathrooms or anywhere outdoors.
Features
Even Worktop Light
Four sources along 47.2″, so no dark ends and no working in your own shadow.
Opal Glass
Globes that glow softly instead of glaring, comfortable at counter eye level.
Walnut and Brass
Warm timber against warm metal, which sits naturally in a kitchen.
Hanging It
Sizing and Height
At 47.2″ long this suits an island or table of roughly 6 to 7 ft, following the usual rule that the fixture runs between half and two thirds the length of the surface, centred on it.
Over a worktop or table, hang the bottom of the globes 30 to 36″ above the surface. Lower looks intimate but gets in the way of sightlines across an island; higher and it stops being task light.
In a walkway, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom underneath.
Bulbs
E26 or E27, Four Needed
Each socket takes a standard E26 bulb in the US and Canada, or E27 in Europe, the UK, and Australia.
For a kitchen island, 4000K neutral white is usually the better choice, because it keeps food colours accurate while you cook. If this is over a dining table instead, 2700–3000K warm white suits the brass and walnut better.
Contact us to confirm the maximum wattage per socket before buying bulbs.

Care
Three Materials, Three Habits
Let the bulbs cool first. Wipe the opal glass with a soft dry or barely damp cloth, and never spray cleaner at the fixture, since liquid running into the sockets is how island lights fail.
Wipe the walnut with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away. Solid timber is natural, so grain and tone vary and will mellow slightly over the years.
Leave the brass alone beyond dusting. Metal polish strips the finish and leaves bright patches that cannot be matched.
