Overview

Slim alabaster shades on individual cords, hung at staggered heights.

Light passes through the stone rather than around it, so each shade glows cream and gold from within, with the natural veining showing in the surface.

Because every shade hangs on its own cord, a cluster can be set to follow a stairwell, a sloped ceiling, or the shape of a table instead of sitting in a flat row.

Available as a single shade in two sizes, or as clusters of two, three, five, or seven, all in brass and cream-white stone.

Before You Order

Set the Heights Before You Finish Wiring

The staggered look is the point of this fixture, but the cords are set by cutting and knotting, not by a sliding adjuster. Changing a shade's height afterwards means re-doing that cord.

Decide your heights while the electrician is still on the ladder. If you tell us your ceiling height and send a photo of the space, we will cut and wire the cords to suit before shipping.

Keep Fabric Well Clear

Alabaster holds and radiates heat, so the shades get warm in use. Keep curtains, blinds, and anything flammable at least 12″ away, and avoid handling a shade that has been lit for a while.

Dry Indoor Rooms Only

Alabaster is porous and water marks it permanently. Not for bathrooms, covered porches, or anywhere outdoors.

The 59.1″ drop is the longest cord in a cluster; the others are shorter so the shades stagger. Over a dining table you normally want the lowest shade 30 to 36″ above the surface, which from an 8 ft ceiling means shortening the cords considerably.

About the Stone

No Two Shades Match

Veining and tone vary from shade to shade, so in a cluster each one glows slightly differently. That is the character of genuine stone rather than a defect, and your fixture will not match the photographs exactly.

Alabaster is soft and marks with hard contact. Dust with a soft dry cloth, and never use an abrasive cloth or any household cleaner.
