Before You Order
Fit LED Bulbs, Nothing Else
This is a paper shade with two bulbs inside it. Never fit incandescent, halogen, or filament bulbs. Paper scorches and discolours with heat, and two hot bulbs in an enclosed paper shade is a fire risk.
Use cool-running LEDs only, and contact us to confirm the maximum wattage before buying bulbs.
It Is Nearly Three Feet Tall
The shade alone is 32.2″ high, before the cable. From a standard 8 ft ceiling that leaves limited clearance, so it is best over a dining table or in a room with some height.
The 59″ cable can be shortened at installation and extended on request.
Dry Indoor Rooms Only

Choosing Bulbs
Two Bulbs, Bought Separately
The sockets take E26 bulbs in the US and Canada, or E27 bulbs in Europe, the UK, and Australia. Bulbs are not included.
Two warm white LEDs at 2700–3000K and 6–8W each, so 12–16W combined, give comfortable ambient light for a dining table or a living room of up to about 215 sq ft.
Use two identical bulbs. Mismatched wattage or colour temperature shows through paper as an uneven glow, with one side of the shade visibly warmer than the other.

About the Handmade Finish
Hand-Torn and Bonded
Each shade is made using the chigiri technique, where layers of paper are torn by hand rather than cut, then bonded so the fibres knit together at the join.
Faint glue traces along the edges and slight variation between pieces are characteristics of that process, not faults. The torn edge is what gives the paper its soft, feathered join when lit.
Care
Looking After Paper
Dust with a dry soft brush or a low-suction vacuum held well away from the surface. Never use water, damp cloths, or cleaning products, as paper marks permanently.
Keep it out of direct sunlight, which yellows and weakens paper over time.
