Can I hang this over my kitchen island?
Yes, but size matters. V1 and V2 are small and suit islands under 3 feet. V3 and V4 have two heads 5.9 inches apart and work on islands 4 to 5 feet wide. Measure your surface first.
What is the marble ball for?
It's the decorative finial where the cord attaches to the shade. It's solid marble—black with the brass versions, dark green with the black versions.
Do I need to install a new ceiling box?
V1 and V2 use one cord, so one standard pendant box works. V3 and V4 have two cords and need a fixture canopy that mounts to a round ceiling box with two holes drilled.
