About the gold-finished interior The interior surface of each pod is gold-finished aluminum — a warm metallic painted finish on the lightweight aluminum body. It's not solid brass and not gold leaf; the visual reads as warm gold and reflects bulb light, but the underlying material is aluminum throughout.
