Before You Order

Suspended on a Rigid Rod, Not a Cable

This version hangs from a streamlined rod. A rod gives a clean vertical line and will not swing or twist, which is why it suits a stairwell or a tall entry, but a rod is a fixed length in a way a cable is not.

Tell us your ceiling height before ordering and we will confirm the drop and what adjustment is possible, so your electrician is not improvising on the day.

Dry Indoor Rooms Only

IP20, for dry indoor locations. Fabric absorbs moisture, marks permanently, and grows mould in damp air, and steam carries cooking grease into the weave.

Not for bathrooms, not directly above a sink or hob, and not for covered porches or anywhere outdoors.

Integrated LED — and Why It Suits This Fixture

The light source is built in, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to match. On a pale fabric shade that matters more than usual: with a bulb you would see its shape as a dark shadow through the fabric, and here the surface glows evenly all over.

It also runs cool against the fabric. It cannot be swapped like a bulb, so the fixture is replaced at the end of its life rather than re-lamped, which in normal use is many years away.

Choosing a Size

Placement

Over a dining table, choose a fixture roughly half to two thirds the width of the table, and centre it on the table rather than on the room.

Hang the bottom 30 to 36″ above a surface, and keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom in any walkway.

Both sizes are very shallow — under 8″ tall — so almost all of your drop is the rod. That is why it works under a standard 8 ft ceiling as well as in a double-height space.

A wide flat fixture shows a tilt against the ceiling line, and three stacked rings show it three times over. Ask your electrician to check it with a spirit level before the final tighten.

Care

Brush the Fabric, Never Wet It

Dust the rings with a soft brush, a lint roller, or a low-suction vacuum brush. Never use water, damp cloths, or any cleaning product on the fabric — it water-marks permanently and the jacquard weave cannot be cleaned back.

Three stacked rings means three upper surfaces collecting dust, and on pale fabric that greys the shade from above where nobody is looking. Include the top of each tier a few times a year.

The bronze frame takes a dry cloth only. Keep any metal polish well away from the fabric.

Over a kitchen counter, airborne grease works into a woven shade and cannot be removed. Dust it regularly rather than trying to clean it later.
