A rocket silhouette in metal and stone — Aragon.
The shade is natural alabaster, a translucent stone that has been used for lighting for centuries because it does something no manufactured material quite matches. Light does not simply pass through it; it travels a little way into the stone and glows out, soft and warm, with the veining showing as faint shadows inside the light.
Set against a dark metal frame, it reads as a solid, weighty object by day and turns into a lantern in the evening.
Every shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining, the tone, and the way the light moves through it are different on every piece.
13.4″ across, in black or copper. If you have any questions about our products, please contact us and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
Before You Order
Contact Us for the Technical Details
We do not currently have the light source, wattage, weight, or drop length published for this fixture.
Message us before ordering and we will confirm what it takes, how heavy it is, and how far it hangs, so your electrician can plan the installation properly.
Dry Indoor Rooms Only
Alabaster is a porous natural stone that absorbs moisture and stains. Do not install it in a bathroom, directly above a sink or hob, on a covered porch, or anywhere outdoors.
Stone Is Heavier Than It Looks
A 13.4″ alabaster shade carries real weight. Mount it into a ceiling joist or a rated ceiling box designed to carry a light fitting, never into plasterboard alone, and confirm the weight with us first.
Features
Natural Alabaster
Translucent stone that glows rather than simply transmitting light, with veining visible when lit.
One of a Kind
Cut from natural stone, so no two shades share the same veining or tone.
Sculptural Silhouette
A rocket form in metal and stone that holds its own unlit, in daylight.
Choosing a Finish
Black or Copper
Black gives the strongest contrast. The frame becomes a dark outline and the stone reads as pure glowing light inside it, which makes the shape graphic and modern.
Copper is the warmer choice and picks up the honey tones already in the alabaster, so metal and stone blend into one warm object rather than reading as two materials.
Size and Placement
13.4″ Across, 10.2″ Deep
One suits a small dining table, a bedside, an entry, or a reading corner. Over a kitchen island or a longer table, hang two or three spaced 24 to 30″ apart.
Hang the bottom 30 to 36″ above a tabletop, and keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom in any walkway.
Alabaster is at its best where you see it up close. The veining and the depth of the glow are what you are paying for, and from across a large room that detail is lost. Over a table, in an entry, or beside a chair, it earns its place.
If you buy more than one, expect the stone to differ between them. That is the nature of the material, and a row of visibly different shades usually looks better than a matched set — but it is worth knowing in advance.
Light
Warm Light Is the Right Choice
This is supplied as warm light, which is exactly what alabaster wants. Warm light brings out the honey and cream tones in the stone; cool white turns natural stone grey and flat and throws away the reason for choosing alabaster in the first place.
If the fixture takes a replaceable bulb, use an LED rather than an incandescent or halogen. Stone holds heat, and a hot bulb inside an enclosed stone shade is worth avoiding. Contact us to confirm the bulb type before ordering.

Care
Never Use Vinegar or Citrus on Alabaster
Alabaster is a soft, calcium-based stone and acid etches it permanently. Vinegar, lemon juice, and most multi-surface and bathroom sprays leave dull marks that cannot be polished out.
Dust with a dry soft cloth only. Alabaster is porous, so water sitting on the surface leaves dark marks and oily fingerprints can soak in — handle the shade by the frame rather than the stone during installation.
It is also softer than most stone and chips easily against a hard edge. Take care when unpacking and fitting it.
